This couple contacted me about newborn and maternity photos when they were expecting their first babies: they were blessed with not just one, but two sweet boys on the way! I was so excited when this told me that she wanted to celebrate everything that her body was doing in this stage, and that she wanted photos that showed off its very real power and beauty.
When I was pregnant myself, I struggled to see anything beautiful about my growing body. I felt miserable, and I criticized myself in ways that I would never dream of criticizing another woman. It took time and distance to truly appreciate how beautiful I was as I grew my babies. When this mother could already see and appreciate the stage she was in, while she was still in it experiencing all the ups and downs, it brought me so much joy! I truly wish that all women could see their own beauty, and could erase the false, silly version that our world has tried to teach us. Easier said than done, I know – but I hope that every photograph I give to every woman I work with helps to do accomplish this.
If you’re expecting, and you know that it’s time to celebrate the miracle your body is working, I’d love to celebrate with you. That looks different for everyone – but I hope that you, too, can be inspired by these photos and this mother just like I was.

I’m Hannah. I’m a photographer and educator based in Boise, Idaho, where I live with my favorite guy ever and our four little ones.
