Boise Train Depot Family session, photographed by Hannah Mann
While I never tire of gorgeous natural settings and the quiet beauty of Idaho’s great outdoors, I was excited when this family wanted their session to take place in a location that had significance to them: the Boise Train Depot. Photographing at the train depot reminded me of the sessions I used to photograph in Old Town, San Diego, and I so enjoyed shooting somewhere with history and unique architecture.
The wildfires in our neighbor states to the west were sending horrible amounts of smoke to the valley for much of the summer, but especially the afternoon that this family session took place. It was sad to have our view of the city and the bright sunshine clouded over (not to mention, it was no fun to breathe!), but the smoke ended up lending a air of mystery and nostalgia to our photos, reminding me of times long past.
While natural settings may be my go-to, I would love to photograph you at a unique location that is meaningful to you. I always enjoy working with my clients to help their vision become a reality that will photograph beautifully!
