Family Photography Boise
This family session is of one of my dearest friends, who also happens to be an incredible hairdresser – and don’t you just love her strawberry locks? Before her husband’s work moved them all to Wyoming, we made sure to capture them all together in this wonderful state that we met in and grew our friendship in.
This wide open field is in the countryside not so far from where I live, and it has always been a spot that I have loved to walk in and watch the sun set. The foothills and the mountains are perhaps more beautiful at first glance, but Idaho’s countryside is wide open, big-sky territory, and holds a beauty all its own. There’s nothing like sunset with unrestricted views of the entire horizon.
I always encourage my clients to let me help style them, but that doesn’t mean that I want anyone to look the same or not feel perfectly ‘themselves’ in whatever they wear for photos. This family is wearing a perfect example of what I encourage clients toward (soft/neutral tones, lighter rather than darker), while still totally retaining their own style (casual, outdoor-loving, and fun). My goal is for every family to walk away with photos that feel so perfectly them, while also being styled in a way that helps to create photos that are beautiful, display wonderfully in their home, and reflect the vision that each client comes to me for.
