Photographing a newborn in the place where your family actually lives can add so much to your newborn session — the place where the light comes through your bedroom window in the morning, where your toddler has claimed their favorite corner of the couch, where everything is familiar and comfortable and yours. These are some of the newborn sessions I love most.
In-home newborn sessions have a softness to them that is hard to replicate anywhere else. There’s no packing up the diaper bag and loading everyone into the car, no unfamiliar environment for a brand new baby to adjust to — just your family, in your space, doing what you do. And for families adding a second or third baby to their homes, that familiarity makes a really big difference, especially when there’s a toddler sibling (or siblings!) in the mix.
